Mission

The mission of Crossroads is to provide a healthy, safe, nurturing and culturally competent recovery environment that promotes a therapeutic alliance with the persons served and that fosters the self-empowerment of those recovering from addiction and/or mental health disorders.
Cultural Statement
Crossroads defines culture as that which describes the inherent ideas, customs, skills, language and beliefs of a particular group of people. Crossroads understands that these elements may be conveyed from generation to generation and that community advocacy validates cultural groups. The critical presence of these elements in the lives of the persons served compels Crossroads to view culture as crucial in our therapeutic approach. Crossroads believes that effective treatment must encompass the cultural self including the person's family, extended family and significant others. Based on this understanding of the role of culture in recovery, Crossroads regards family and community involvement and spirituality as integral components of recovery support.
Recovery and Cultural Vision
Culture is the soul of understanding and the heart of the human perspective. It is a doorway to what drives the human spirit and a window to the process of thought and emotion. It is the foundation of what we think, what we do, what we feel and how we choose to see, and ultimately, the vehicle to how we learn, what we learn and, most critical of all, how we change. Family reunification and community integration are at the heart of this cultural vision of recovery. A culturally sensitive recovery environment is created by treating the persons served and their family with dignity and respect, believing that it is possible for those served and their loved ones to improve their quality of life through recovery, and providing family-centered, gender-responsive, trauma-informed and culturally competent treatment, in English and in Spanish.
